WASCA has three categories of members: Facility Members, Professional Members and Auxiliary Members. Memberships run for the calendar year and expire on December 31.
Facility Membership
Facility Membership is open to any ambulatory surgical center located in the State of Washington, whether it is licensed pursuant to chapter 70.230 RCW or properly exempt from licensure and whether it is freestanding or affiliated with a physician practice or other entity.
Professional Membership
Professional Membership is open to any individual who exhibits an interest in and a commitment to the objectives and purposes of WASCA. Any individual who is an employee or otherwise a representative of an organization that is eligible for a Facility Membership is not eligible for Professional Membership.
Auxiliary Membership
Auxiliary Membership is open to any corporate entity that is not eligible for Facility Membership and that supports the objectives and purposes of WASCA. If an Auxiliary Member is an affiliate of one or more ASCs, all such affiliated ASCs must be Facility Members of WASCA. “Affiliate” means, with respect to any entity, any person, corporation, company, individual, or other entity that, directly or indirectly, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with, such entity. “Control” means the direct or indirect ownership of 50% or more of the equity interests of an entity, or the power to direct or cause the direction of the management and policies of an entity, whether through ownership, by contract, or otherwise.
