Founded in 1991, the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association serves as the ambulatory surgery industry’s public policy advocate in the State of Washington. WASCA is a member-supported association for Washington’s ASCs and serves a resource for educational opportunities, legal information, and assistance with operational issues relevant to the ambulatory surgery industry.
WASCA:
- Acts on behalf of Washington’s ASCs in Olympia, providing state legislative and regulatory advocacy
- Prepares, supports and defends laws and regulations that promote the ambulatory surgery industry before the Washington State Legislature as well as various state agencies
- Challenges laws and regulations that threaten the ambulatory surgery industry
- Collaborates with other state ASC associations and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association on federal developments affecting ASCs
- Offers educational opportunities for ASC owners, operators and staff on issues relevant to the ambulatory surgery industry
- Promotes public awareness of ASCs, their services, and their value in the state’s healthcare delivery system
- Provides a venue for ASC owners, operators and staff to collaborate and exchange ideas regarding business, legal, operational issues
- Serves as a resource for tools to help member ASCs remain competitive in the state’s healthcare delivery system
